2 Time Supreme Grand Reproducing Ch.
 Mtn. View Dance,
Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Dance was the the main cornerstone of the Mountain View Cur Breed. I've always said she was a gift from God. No other single female has contributed more. She was an outstanding tree dog day or night, always trying to please her master. She was a phenomenal reproducer of "Natural"tree dogs, raising 12 litters (114 pups) with only one pup that may not have made a tree dog. She is the only Two Time Supreme Grand Reproducing Champion female ever. Dance was the smartest dog I have ever seen and she put that in her pups and is deeply missed. Dance is in 10 of the 20 Hall of Fame pedigrees. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Mtn. View Gold Nugget,
Trained/Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Nugget is another cornerstone of the Mountain View Cur breed. No other male has produced more tree dogs than he. He has sired over 90 litters of pups with an unbelievable 98% turn out. Nugget was our main stud dog and was used in the beginning as a test breeder to find out if a female could reproduce. Even his worst litter produced 80% tree dogs. Nugget is the best coon dog we have ever owned and despite being a silent trailer, he had a phenomenal career in competition that speaks for itself, winning the two National Coon Championships back to back that he was ever entered in and becoming a Grand Night Champion in three registries. Nugget is deeply missed by his owner, but he still lives on in all his outstanding children and grand children around the world. No other dog has influenced the Mountain View Cur breed more. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

3 Time Squirrel Champion
3 Time Nite Champion
4 Time Bench Champion
Mtn.View Buckshot,
Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Buck was the best combination tree dog we had ever owned at that time. He would give his all no matter if hunting squirrel, or coon, or even on the bench, he was awesome. He is the third cornerstone in the breed and sired over 48 litters with a 96% turn out. He was the Northeastern Classic Nite Champion and over-all Event Champion at only 15 months of age. He also made Squirrel Champion and Nite Champion in 3 registries and Show Champion in 4. He has several Squirrel, Nite, and Show Champion wins also, including Kentucky State, and Breeders Cup World Reserve Champion. Even though Buck died at the early age of 6 because of an earlier  knee injury and heat stroke complications, he left a large collar to fill. Fortunately he left a legacy of outstanding sons and daughters. Some nights it seems I can still hear Ole' Bucky locating in the distance, he is deeply missed. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!
Supreme Grand Reproducing Champion
Mtn. View KY Lady,
Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Lady is the last cornerstone to the foundation of the breed. She is an outstanding tree dog day or night and has raised 9 litters of pups for us, and all  have made tree dogs that I know of.  Lady brought in a twist to the other cornerstones, her pedigree showed dogs that were sisters and brothers to theirs. We have retired her from breeding and Mr. Slayton of Louisville is enjoying hunting with her in her late years. She always produced those extra blocky headed outstanding pups. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Tenn. Mtn. View Molly,
Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Molly was Buckshot's grandmother and Dance's aunt. She raised 6 outstanding litters bred to Nugget. All made tree dogs but one in her last litter (Runt) and she had to be put down with cancer right after weaning these pups. Molly was very gamey and had an outstanding nose and she put that in her pups. She is in the pedigree's of 11 of the 20 Hall of Famer's. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Mtn. View Blond Beauty,
Owner & Breeder Michael J. Bloodgood
Beauty was out of H/F Mtn. View Dance's first litter and was not only a beautiful female like her name, but an outstanding tree dog and reproducer, she raised 11 litters and only had one bad pup. She's the mother of many famous Mtn. View Curs, like H/F GRepCh. Bentley's Major Sam and H/F SGRepCh. Mtn. View Gold Mist. She lost her left front leg at six  years of age in an accident, but when turned loose she would still get treed in a hurry. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Tenn. Mtn. View Honey,
Owner Michael J. Bloodgood
Honey's dam was Molly and  was H/F Mtn. View Buckshot's mother and H/F Mtn. View Dance's cousin. She was an outstanding tree dog day or night with outstanding winding and locating ability, locating game when no other dogs could.  She raised many outstanding pups. We always loved her heads up trailing style and she put that in her pups. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Mtn. View Gold Mist,
Owner & Breeder Michael J. Bloodgood
Misty was a beautiful female out of Hall of Famer's Mtn. View Beauty and Mtn. View Buckshot and is 3rd generation Mtn. View Cur. She produced many famous 3/4 Buckshot's when bred back to her Dad, like H/F SGRepCh. Mtn. View Buckshot II (Buddy) and H/F GRepCh. Mtn. View Special. Her pups were the earliest starting pups we ever raised, some treeing on a dead squirrel at only 8 weeks of age and treeing their own squirrel at 4 months. She was a litter mate to H/F GRepCh. Bentley's Major Sam  and a "Natural" tree dog. At the time we felt she was producing the best pups possible thus far. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Mtn. View Brandy,
Owner & Breeder Michael J. Bloodgood,
Brandy was out of H/F Mtn. View Buckshot and Mtn. View Sheila and was a litter mate to H/F GRepCh. Randall's Steel Jacket. She was one of the toughest hunting dogs we have ever had. She would take on the biggest coon and never quit. Brandy produced 6 outstanding litters of "Natural" tree dogs. She was very gamey and put that in her pups. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Reproducing Champion
Yellow Bob’s Joe,
Owned by Carl, Jake, & Luke McDaniel.
Joe was an outstanding young male, who was believed stolen or snake bit on a coon hunt. Joe was a "Natural" and proved to be an outstanding reproducer. He was the McDaniel's all time favorite tree dog. He is deeply missed by them and by the Mtn. View Cur breed. He was a great all around dog. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!
Grand Reproducing Champion
Bentley's Major Sam
Owner Leonard J Bentley
Breeder Michael J. Bloodgood
Sam was out of Hall of Famer's Mtn. View Buckshot's first litter and Mtn. View Blond Beauty. He is an exceptional tree dog day or night. Sam amazes his admirers almost daily. Sam has also proven to be an outstanding reproducer of "Natural" tree dogs like himself.  His owner (Lenny) has said "Sam is the best dog I've ever known and if I was going to draw a blueprint of the perfect tree dog, Sam would be it." Sam is a great example of what the Mountain View Cur is all about. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Owner Byron (Joe) Randall
Breeder Michael J. Bloodgood
Jack was out of H/F Mtn. View Buckshot and Proven Reproducer Mtn. View Sheila. He is exceptional both day and night. He also is a phenomenal reproducer of early starting, easy training, natural tree dogs, with one of the highest percentages in the breed. He is without a doubt one of the best dogs in the country. Mtn. View Champ

Owner/Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood

Champ is out of  the two top corner stones of the Mountain View Cur Breed, Hall of Famer's Mtn. View Gold Nugget and Mountain View Dance. Just like his parents, Champ is an outstanding "natural" treedog. He is the best combination Squirrel and Coon dog we have ever owned, surpassing even H/F Mtn. View Buckshot. Champ was never hunted in point hunts, but has won many money hunts against coon hounds and curs in Indiana before coming back to Kentucky. He is a littermate to Mtn. View Rambo and many, many other great dogs. Unfortunately, with the exception of one litter Champ did not start his breeding career until 6 years of age, but in a very sort time he has put his mark on the breed and continues to produce some of the best dogs in the breed. Champ still amazes us while hunting, consistently filling our coats with squirrels by day and coons by night and returning home by 11pm. Loads up, unloads, and kennels without a leash, always pleasing his master. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

4 Time Supreme Grand Reproducing Champion
Mtn. View Buckshot II
(aka Buddy)
Owner/Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood
Buddy was out of Hall of Famer's Mtn. View Buckshot and a daughter of Buckshot, Mtn. View Gold Mist. He is the only 3/4 bred Buckshot male that has ever been studded. Buddy, started treeing on squirrel at only 4 months of age, but is primarily a coon hunting machine. This is because he was later trained by a local coon hunting friend with his two Grand Nite Champion Walker Hounds. He kept Buddy for a few months until he was consistently out striking and treeing them at only one year of age.
We had then sold Buddy to Gary Speed in New Hampshire, who told us that "Buddy" was the best tree dog he had ever owned. Gary gave him the name "Buddy" because he was Gary's best buddy. Just a few months later we lost our original Buckshot to heat stroke complications. Being a good friend, Gary was nice enough to sell  "Buddy" back to us as Buckshots replacement even though he was giving up such an exceptional dog. Buddy was never competition hunted, but anyone who has been in the woods with him knows he could win any world or major coon hunt. Buddy producing record is second to none, producing some of the top dogs known in the breed today.  We continue to enjoy hunting this awesome treedog and love hearing about his outstanding pups and grand pups.

Mtn. View Miss Nugget
Owner/Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood
Miss Nugget is out of H/F Mtn. View Gold Nugget and a Nugget's daughter Mtn. View Bonnie (sister to Champ) and is the only 3/4 bred Mtn. View Gold Nugget female ever produced. She is most known for her reproducing qualities,  especially when bred to Buckshot or Buckshot II (Buddy), but is one of the most natural treedogs in the breed, always giving 110%. Like her dad, she is one of the most natural, hardest, tree hugging, slobber mouth tree dogs we have ever seen and put that in her pups. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!

Supreme Grand Reproducing Champion
Mtn. View Special
Owner/Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood
Special is out of Hall of Famer's Mtn. View Buckshot and a daughter of Buckshot, Mtn. View Gold Mist. She is a littermate to H/F Mtn. View Buckshot II and is the only 3/4 Buckshot female. She also produces the most natural early starting squirrel and coon dogs a live! Special got her name because at 8 weeks of age she treed solid on a dead squirrel that was hung in a tree for an hour. At 4 months old on her first hunt, she treed  her own fox squirrel ahead of a trained dog and has been the most natural squirrel dog we have ever seen. Special was never compition hunted, but was Certified as a Tree Dog in ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA.

Mtn. View Lil' Dance
Owner/Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood
Lil' Dance is out of Hall of Famer's Mountain View Dance and her outstanding son Mtn. View Camp, making Lil' Dance a 3/4 Dance bred female. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog! Being 3/4 Dance bred, she resembled her mother more than any other dog produced, not only a natural in the woods, but also in the quality of pups she produced. She has produced many top dogs who are heading many MVC kennels. Lil' Dance is pure hussel day or night.

Owners: Rick Wolfe
Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood

Lady is out of H/F Mtn. View Gold Nugget and Mtn. View Goldie. MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog! The late Rick Wolfe was always willing to show the world what Lady could do in the woods and she quickly became very popular in Indiana and in the cur dog world. Lady is a top squirrel and coon dog, but would also retrieve doves while Rick was dove hunting. She also proved to be an outstanding reproducer on natural treeing machines.

Mtn. View Kate
Owners: Michael J. Bloodgood/Dale Martin
Breeder: Michael J. Bloodgood

Kate is out of Hall of Famers Mtn View Buckshot and Mtn. View Blonde Beauty. She is a full sister to Hall of Famer's Bentley's Sam and Mtn. View Gold Mist.  Kate had an unbelievable competition record only second to Hall of famer's Mtn. View Gold Nugget and Mtn. View Buckshot. Kate was one of the hardest hunting dogs we have ever known, she was pure hustle right off the tail gate to the tree, out hunting the best of them. Unfortunately, Kate was hard to catch in heat and only produced four litters of pups in her life-time, but to our knowledge ALL made outstanding tree dogs. She is the mother of Flat Natural Y2Katie and is now retired with Dale Martin and family, living out her days as a well deserved pampered pet. ASANHA, MVCA, and IPDBA, Certified Tree Dog!
